Module 12

Hockney on Photography was the fist video I chose to watch because I love photography. My dream is to have my own studio some day, so I enjoy watching videos on history of photography and different techniques. Drawing with a camera sounds like a very difficult technique but it looks incredibly interesting. I have done a project somewhat like that when I took a photography class, but my piece did not come out that good. You have to use more than one view point. IT is all about perspective and the way we look at art which is what I got out of the readings. He also talks about Van Goethe. It also talks about the Renaissance type works.  I really enjoyed this video because it was so many new ideas for me. I have a passion for this and felt like this is my favorite video of the class thus far. Taking pictures of a stop sign can be boring but the way he maneuvers to create his pieces are incredible. Even his paintings were wonderful.
Andy Warhol: Images of an Image was my second video because I have heard of him. I also read the description and felt like this is a video that I could enjoy watching. Right off the bat the Ten Liz's is very interesting. He died young. He wanted to be a tap dancer and not an artist. The screen image is a negative and really cool to see. The ink creates a positive image and can be reused a number of times. Look at the surface there is nothing underneath of Andy Warhol. This was an interesting video but I wish they didn't keep referring back to the same pieces. He produced several self portraits, he was narcissistic.
