Mask

I chose these masks because of the color.
They are bright and captured attention.
I like the use of lines and how thick they
are.

I chose this mask because I love elephants.
I thought that it was a cool way to do a mask
and show personality. I liked the balance and
proportion of the mask. I do wish the ears were
a bit bigger to make it more dramatic.

I chose this mask because I like the repetition
of dots throughout the whole mask. There is a
little bit of color and it catches attention.
I do not like the shape of the mouth.

I chose these masks because they are the shape I like.
They are also a common type of mask that I see. I also
think that the color is appealing. These are more simple.

The texture of the masks on the left side are smooth. On the right the texture is still smooth but with a few bumps. The bottom right mask has repetition of dots throughout the whole mask. There is balance with the turquoise lines on the sides of the eyes.  The mask on the top left had texture with the use of feathers in the top of the masks.

I wanted to make sure I use color in my mask. Color stood out when I was finding masks. I also wanted to use lines. The lines are simple and not very thick. There is the black lines around the eyes and the green 3-D glitter glue line on the bottom. Most of the mask is balanced but I wanted emphasis on the left side (while laying down) because I am left handed. I also wanted to through in that feminine touch to add a little character. I think my mask idea looks better in the sketch then the over all. I added some details that were not in my sketches. Overall I thought this was a really fun project. If I had a mask provided for me and I had to decorate it, It might have looked a lot different. I had trouble making the mask look 3-D.
